Jacoby Ellsbury will indeed be activated and be in the lineup for tonight’s second game against the Angels. He will lead off and play center field.
Jason Varitek is penciled in to catch. Doug Mirabelli, who was injured this afternoon, was wearing a boot on his right foot. The Sox are flying in minor league catcher Kevin Cash from Ottawa, but it’s unclear whether he’ll make it to Fenway in time for the 7 p.m. start. No announcement about whether Mirabelli would be put on the disabled list has been made.
Theo Epstein is going to meet with the media at 6 p.m.
