Doug Mirabelli won't be gracing the Red Sox lineup for at least the next couple of days, though Terry Francona is hopeful that the catcher will not have to go on the disabled list. He rolled his ankle when he caught a spike from Carl Crawford in a first-inning play at the plate in tonight's 3-2 win over the Devil Rays at Tropicana Field.

Mirabelli was using a single crutch to get around the clubhouse after the game, but said he had a similar injury in 2002 and it only took him four days (the time between Tim Wakefield starts) to recover.

The Red Sox will bring up another catcher tomorrow. It could possibly be Triple A catcher Corky Miller (though that would leave the PawSox without a backstop), who hit his eighth home run since the All-Star break last night. Francona declined to offer any specifics after the game.
