On Sunday, he was sent back down again, after a disappointing spring-training performance. Last year’s run of 188 plate appearances in the big leagues provided a lifetime of memories, but Nava wants a longer career. He wants to be a real player.
Cinderella didn’t have to hope for a second miracle, and neither does Nava. His performance last year was no mirage. He can do it again. The real Daniel Nava story should not be about dreams coming true, but about how people with true desire and character keep on working, making their own fortunes. We expect to see him at Fenway Park, later this summer.
