Vladimir Guerrero singled home the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning and the Rangers won their 11th straight game, rallying from an early four-run deficit to beat the struggling Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-5, last night in Arlington, Texas.

Josh Hamilton had three hits for the AL West leaders, extending his career-best hitting streak to 18 games. Texas’ winning streak is the longest in the majors this season. The club record is 14 straight in 1991.

Elvis Andrus drew a one-out walk in the ninth from rookie callup Steven Jackson (0-1) and went to second on Michael Young’s single. Andrus dashed to third on Ian Kinsler’s flyout and scored when Guerrero laced a 2-2 pitch to left, completing a three-game sweep.

White Sox 2, Braves 0 — Paul Konerko homered with two outs in the eighth inning, and Gavin Floyd, J.J. Putz, and Bobby Jenks combined on a two-hitter as host Chicago swept Atlanta for its ninth win in a row and 13th in 14 games.

Rays 5, Padres 3 — Matt Garza worked eight effective innings and Kelly Shoppach came within a triple of hitting for the cycle and host Tampa Bay avoided a sweep by San Diego.

Brewers 5, Twins 0 — Yovani Gallardo did not allow a base runner until Drew Butera singled with one out in the sixth inning and Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks homered as host Milwaukee finished off a sweep of Minnesota.

Cubs 3, Mariners 2 — Marlon Byrd hit an opposite-field RBI single with one out in the 13th inning, allowing Chicago to avoid a sweep and snap host Seattle’s six-game winning streak.

Phillies 12, Indians 3 — Joe Blanton pitched effectively into the eighth and host Philadelphia roughed up Fausto Carmona to complete a sweep of Cleveland.

Orioles 11, Marlins 5 — Miguel Tejada had a season-high four hits, ended his career-long home run drought at 205 at-bats, and drove in four runs in host Baltimore’s rout of Florida.

Tigers 6, Mets 5 — Armando Galarraga won for the first time since his near-perfect game and Magglio Ordonez and Ryan Raburn homered as visiting Detroit built a 6-1 lead and held off New York.

Blue Jays 5, Cardinals 0 — Vernon Wells homered twice and Brandon Morrow pirtched eight sharp innings, leading host Toronto past St. Louis.

Astros 7, Giants 5 — Wandy Rodriguez broke a three-game losing streak and Hunter Pence had a three-run homer to lead Houston past visiting San Francisco.
