Forbes magazine's survey of MLB franchises showed the Yankees' value increased to $1.306 billion over the past year. The Mets were second at $824 million and the Red Sox third at $816 million. The Yankees ($47.3m) and Sox ($19.1m) lost money last year because of luxury taxes and revenue-sharing costs. Dollar figures are in millions, change is percentage increase from 2007, and revenue is after adjustments for sharing:
