* A 35-year-old man, whose identity was not immediately revealed, was critically injured when he fell from a ramp on the 500 level of RFK Stadium in Washington, hit several ramps and railings on the way down, and landed on the concourse of the 100 level. He was flown to a hospital in a US Park Police helicopter, suffering from multi-system trauma.
* Atlanta's Andruw Jones went 0 for 4, stretching his career-worst hitless slide to 27 at-bats.
* Craig Biggio got the 1,000th RBI of his career with his first-inning homer. He added another with an RBI double. The only player with more for the Astros is Jeff Bagwell with 1,517.
* Jose Vidro and Nick Johnson of the Nationals have 10-game hitting streaks. For Johnson, that's a career high. Vidro's best was 21 games in May 2002.
* Marlins' Juan Pierre struck out for the first time in 62 at-bats this season, ending his streak of 82 plate appearances without a strikeout.
