Looking up: Sky halts skid at 13

Candice Dupree had 15 points and seven rebounds as the Chicago Sky beat the Charlotte Sting, 75-79, last night to snap a 13-game losing streak and get the franchise's first home victory.

Jia Perkins -- taken in the expansion draft from the Sting -- and Deanna Jackson had 10 points apiece for the Sky (2-13), who won the first time since an opening-day victory at Charlotte May 20.

Comets 83, Mystics 76 -- Tina Thompson scored 22 points and Houston topped Washington for its eighth straight home win.

Fever 66, Shock 56 -- Tamika Whitmore scored 12 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter and Tamika Catchings got her 41st career double-double (17 points, 13 rebounds) to lead host Indiana over Detroit.

Monarchs 87, Lynx 76 -- Erin Buescher, in her first start since 2001, had a career-high 25 points and nine rebounds as host Sacramento built a big lead early and beat Minnesota.
