Glenn and Cowboys agree

He signs 5-year, $20m extension

Dallas Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn signed a five-year, $20 million contract extension yesterday to line up with Terrell Owens and keep catching passes from Drew Bledsoe.

Glenn was under contract for two more seasons, and was scheduled to make $2 million in 2006. The new deal runs through 2010.

Glenn's contract comes two weeks after Keyshawn Johnson was released by Dallas, and nine days after Owens signed a three-year, $25 million deal with the Cowboys.

Johnson last week got a four-year, $19 million deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Glenn, 32, caught 62 passes for 1,136 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns last season, his third in Dallas and first reunited with Bledsoe.

Glenn averaged 18.3 yards per catch last season, a career high.

Extension for Fox
The Panthers have given coach John Fox a five-year contract extension as a reward for taking them deep into the playoffs in two of the last three seasons.

Fox, who had two years left on his current contract, received a deal that runs through 2010 and will pay him close to $5 million a season.

Fox has a 36-28 regular-season record, and is 5-2 in the playoffs.

Carolina went 7-9 his first season, and Fox took the Panthers to their first Super Bowl the next year. He brought the Panthers back to the NFC Championship Game last season.
