It's a 'Sweet' victory

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sweet Talker battled with Royal Bean but held on to win the featured $70,510 Regret Prep for 3-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs yesterday.

Sweet Talker, with Brice Blanc in the saddle, was coming off a win in the Edgewood Stakes on Kentucky Oaks Day. She finished the 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:43.41 and paid $2.80, $2.40, and $2.10.

Royal Bean failed in a late stretch rally to return $3.60 and $2.10. Godsend was third and paid $2.10.

Sweet Talker, the daughter of Stormin Fever, is owned by Eliah and Lisa Kahn. She earned $44,995 with the win to increase her lifetime earnings to $237,723. She improved her career record to five wins in 10 starts.
