The state’s top Republican fundraisers will gather next month at an expensive waterfront home in Osterville, as the party looks to thank its “most important financial supporters.”
Billed as a “Massachusetts finance leadership appreciation BBQ,” the August 24 event features special guests former Senator Scott Brown, 2010 gubernatorial nominee Charlie Baker, and former Senate minority leader Richard Tisei, who narrowly lost a congressional race last year to US Representative John Tierney.
The event is scheduled to take place at the home of Bill and Ruth Ann Carey, who last year hosted a high-dollar fundraiser for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. The home is listed for sale at $12,999,000.
“You have done so much to help our hard-working candidates over the past years, and we’re eager to bring this group together for a casual ‘thank you’ event before the summer closes out,” reads an email from state GOP chairwoman Kirsten Hughes, accompanying a save-the-date note for the event.
In addition to Brown, Baker and Tisei, the email promises the company of “many other leaders from the GOP team in MA.”
