Governor Deval Patrick is co-hosting a fund-raiser for President Obama next Monday in Brooklyn, or “Baracklyn” as the president’s supporters have dubbed it for the occasion.
The Massachusetts Democrat will join White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and Newark Mayor Cory Booker for a reception at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Brooklyn Bowl.
Ticket prices range from $250 per person to $2,500 for those wishing to be designated “reception co-host.”
Patrick has been an active surrogate speaker for the president, both in person and on the Sunday talk shows. He also delivered a prime-time address on the president’s behalf earlier this month at the Democratic National Convention.
A Patrick aide said the president’s campaign asked the governor to make the trip to New York. He will fly back and forth on Monday during what will be a big night in Massachusetts politics, the second debate between Senator Scott Brown and his Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren.
The Brooklyn reception is one of several upcoming events in New York as the presidential race reaches its conclusion.
This Friday, Reggie Love, the president’s former personal assistant, will host a $5,000 per person skybox reception as rapper Jay-Z christens the new home of the Brooklyn Nets, the Barclays Center.
