Officials in Libya's transitional government say Moammar Khadafy has been captured and possibly killed in the fall of his hometown of Sirte, but there is no confirmation from the country's most senior leaders.
Since the end of 2010, massive waves of protests have quickly spread across countries in North Africa and the Middle East.
