German convicted in ’82 death of stepchild

A Paris criminal court yesterday convicted a retired German doctor in the 1982 death of his 15-year-old stepdaughter in a decades-long cross-border battle for justice by the girl’s father. The court handed down a 15-year prison sentence to Dieter Krombach - who was kidnapped in 2009 and brought to France on the orders of the victim’s French biological father who wanted him tried.
