Master Sergeant Gregory R. Trent, 38, Norton
Trent, 38, enlisted in the Army as an artilleryman in 1998 and served as a howitzer section chief in Italy. He later joined Special Forces and served one tour of duty in Iraq and four tours in Afghanistan. An intelligence sergeant with Company B, Fourth Battalion, Third Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Fort Bragg, N.C., he was wounded on July 31, 2012, in Baktabad, Afghanistan, when his unit was attacked with small arms fire. He died of his wounds on Aug. 8, 2012, in Bethesda, Md. Trent left his wife, a daughter, a brother, and his parents.
