A passenger plane in Philadelphia had to abort its takeoff on Thursday after the front landing gear collapsed, causing the plane's nose to crash into the ground.

The Associated Press reported that passengers had to be evacuated shortly thereafter:

Passengers have been evacuated from a Florida-bound plane at Philadelphia International Airport after an apparent mechanical failure.

Airline officials said US Airways Flight 1702 was heading to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when the pilot was forced to abort takeoff around 6:30 p.m. Thursday after the front landing gear failed.

The report added that an airport spokesman said no injuries were reported.

That's definitely a good thing, but if you've got a flight scheduled in the next few weeks, you might want to reconsider. The combination of today's incident and the still-missing Malaysia Airlines flight isn't doing a lot of great things for flying's reputation.

Oh, and neither is the continuation of the "plane crash selfie" (no, this isn't the first one).

Do you really even want to be stuck in a confined space with the kind of person that takes that? Probably not.

Honestly, you're better off traveling by land or by sea, for the time being. Though if you're in Boston, you might want to avoid the trains. They're not having a great week either.
