Consider Tiffany Corlis, the Australian resident who shot the following video, hired by National Geographic.
Corlis shot an epic five-hour battle at a lake in Queensland, Australia, between a giant python and crocodile, which eventually led to the python slowly swallowing its prey while onlookers watched in horror.
The video, patiently shot, shows the water python strangling the crocodile next to Lake Moondarra. The snake then stretched wide enough so the outline of the crocodile could be seen inside the snake.
"As the morning progressed you could tell both of them were getting a little weaker as the struggle was going on, finally the croc sort of gave in," Corlis told ABC Australia.
Small freshwater crocodiles are relatively easy prey for water pythons, the Telegraph reported. In this case, the snake has had its fill for a whole month, Australian snake expert Bryan Fry told the Telegraph.
Apparently watching the whole scene hasn't deterred Corlis from swimming in the snake and croc infested lake in the future.
"I think I'll just send someone else in first," she told ABC Australia.
