Two were killed and 23 others were injured when a car ran through barricades and into a crowd outside of a nightclub at the Austin music and film festival, according to The Chicago Tribune.

The incident began when police stopped a motorist on suspicion of drunken driving. The suspect allegedly sped away to evade police before crashing into the area outside of the Mohawk nightclub early Thursday morning. The club was hosting an even as part of the South by Southwest music and film festival.
The Los Angeles Times reported:
The car slammed into a crowd standing near the Mohawk nightclub, striking two people on a motorized scooter, who were killed immediately, then hit a number of other bystanders. At least 10 people were taken to the hospital, five in critical condition.
The suspect fled the vehicle on foot and was detained by authorities using an electric stun gun, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Rapper Tyler, The Creator was performing at the Mohawk as part of the festival's closing events, NBC News reports.
The driver now faces murder charges. The names of the deceased have not been released.
