A new Los Angeles establishment has a familiar look, logo and smell. But the name is not quite right.
The store is a parody of Starbucks coffee shop which opened over the weekend on Hillhurst Ave. in LA. The menu and other offerings are similar to the Starbucks menu, but just have the word "dumb" written before everything.

People waited in the Dumb Starbucks line for nearly an hour.
So how is this "dumb" store avoiding a legal trouble by the real Starbucks? According to its Frequently Asked Question sheet it's giving its customers, the shop is protected under the parody law, meaning that its technically categorized as an art gallery, and its coffee is considered the "work of art."
Based on the tweets, it seems the Dumb Starbucks is leaving many dumbfounded

Starbucks says it’s trying to contact the people responsible for mock store, the Associated Press reported.
‘‘We are evaluating next steps, and while we appreciate the humor, they cannot use our name, which is a protected trademark," spokeswoman Laurel Harper told the Associated Press.
