And forget the generic photo of a woman in a pantsuit sitting behind a desk. Photos of women are about to get stronger and more realistic, thanks to Getty Images and Sheryl Sandberg's organization The powerhouse duo have teamed up to produce The Lean In Collection, an assortment of 2,500 stock photos that represent women and families in more empowering ways.

Stock images are a cost-effective substitute to original photography that's found nearly everywhere online. While many readers may not think twice about the photo they're seeing, Sandberg says these images are a key tool for marketing, media and advertising campaigns. The photos debuted ahead of Women's History Month in March. The month also marks the one-year anniversary of Sandberg's best-selling book, "Lean In."

"You can't be what you can't see. In an age where media are all around us, it is critical that images provide examples that both women and men can emulate," Sandberg said.
