After May, WCVB-TV EyeOpener watchers will no longer wake up to see Bianca de la Garza at the anchoring the morning show.

De la Garza will leaving the anchor desk to develop an entertainment show with the station under her new company, Lucky Gal Productions LLC, the stations president and general manager Bill Fine announced Tuesday.

De la Garza had been in talks about her transition with the station for over a year, Fine said in a public statement. After May, she will no longer anchor the EyeOpener and the station's noon half-hour news program.

No specific details have been released about her new show, but de la Garza says, "the new show will be very Boston and very Bianca – stay tuned!"

"Bianca has numerous other interests and will undoubtedly be successful in pursuing her new career. I'm thrilled her first venture will be on WCVB," said Fine.

De la Garza joined WCVB in 2007.
