Just when we thought nothing could be further from the truth than size 8 models posing as plus-sized, Target gave us another reason to raise a brow.
On its website Target.com, the retailer has apparently dressed a maternity model in the Merona Women's Plus-Size Short-Sleeve V-Neck Maxi Dress in Black/Cream.
A spokeperson for Target told the Huffington Post that the image was an error due to "a garment at a photo shoot being mislabeled."
The image has since been removed from the site.
This isn't the first oversight Target has had on its plus-sized clothing display. In their spring 2013 collection, Target labeled a gray plus-size dress as "Manatee Gray" while the same dress in regular sizes was called "Dark Heather Gray," the Huffington Post reported.
Many Target shoppers experienced grief over the holidays when a data breach in the retailer's system left many debit and credit card users to acquire fraudulent charges. A pregnant model in Manatee would probably be the seemingly natural next step in the retailer's not so great promotional year.
