The Boston Police Department is asking the public to comply with security measures or face arrest. During a recent press conference, Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief Daniel Linskey asked the public to follow a few simple rules and suggestions:

    • Throwing baseballs: At previous rallies, many fans threw baseballs in the crowd and to players. This will not be allowed at the rolling rally since several people were hurt in 2007.

    • Safety zone: Fans should not get too close to the duck boats, especially when the boats take to the river. Anyone entering the security zone in a kayak, boat, or who tries to swim to the duck boats, will be subject to arrest.

    • Backpacks: Backpacks are allowed but police recommend not bringing them, if possible.

The enhanced security zone will be in place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
