A five-year-old boy, Miles, who is fighting leukemia, made a wish to be a superhero and Make-A-Wish San Francisco is transforming downtown San Francisco into Gotham City to make his dream come true.
"He is a bright, positive, little boy who finds inspiration in super-heroes," Make-a-Wish said of the boy, Miles. "When we interviewed Miles for a wish, he surprised even his parents: Miles wants to be Batkid!"
On November 15th, Miles will get his wish! The day will begin with a breaking news story. San Francisco’s Police Chief will ask if anyone knows the whereabouts of Batkid. The city needs his help to fight crime and capture villains! Our little Batkid, along with The Caped Crusader, will be ready to answer the call!
Miles, aka BatKid, will first rescue a damsel in distress from cable car tracks, followed by a capture of the Puzzler for robbing a downtown vault. Miles will later take a lunch break at Burger Bar, but his lunch will be interrupted by the Police Chief with a message to look out of the window. He will see a big crowd of volunteers asking BatKid to help rescue San Francisco's mascot Lou Seal, who was kidnapped by Mr. P.
In a chase, Miles will capture Mr. P, rescue Lou Seal, and head to City Hall where the Mayor of San Francisco will thank him for his heroism and present him with the key to the city.
Make-A-Wish has released a schedule of time and places where people can join and make the little boy's dream a reality.
