Boston school bus drivers go out on strike

The Boston Public School Department, on its website, has informed parents that the city's bus drivers are on strike and to expect significant delays this morning.
According to the department, approximately half of buses are on normal schedules while the other half will be delayed or canceled.
On Twitter, the department described the work action this way:
ALERT: Our school bus drivers are staging an illegal work action to protest safety, performance improvements. http://t.co/sRyhxdvNvb
