When he woke up in a hospital in Southern California, he thought his name was Johan Ek. He only spoke Swedish, and he didn't recognize any of the identification hospital officials found on him saying he was actually Michael Boatwright, 61, from Florida. Boatwright was diagnosed with transient global amnesia in March, which is typically triggered by serious physical or emotional trauma and can go on for months. His ability to speak Swedish didn't come out of the blue, though, as public records show Boatwright lived in Sweden on and off from 1981 to 2003.
