Face transplant recipient Carmen Blandin Tarleton signed copies of her book ‘‘Overcome: Burned, Blinded, and Blessed’’ today at Brigham and Women's Hospital where she received the transplant.
The Vermont woman revealed her new face in May, six years after her estranged husband attacked her with lye, burning more than 80 percent of her body.
In her book, Tarleton talks about how forgiveness changed her life.
"Back in 2009 I hadn't forgiven. I just started coming out to the media, so I wasn't as comfortable and I wasn't as confident yet," Tarleton explained. "But now things have changed dramatically in those short years."
