On Friday, crews added a spire to the top of One World Trade Center, making the structure the tallest building in the United States at 1,776 feet. The tower stands at the northwest corner of the site of the September 11, 2001 attacks and will open in 2014.

EarthCam released this time-lapse video of the construction of the World Trade Center tower from 2004 to 2012.
