In her fight against gun violence, John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, tweeted an image of what are said to be blood-stained glasses belonging to her ex-Beatle husband.
Lennon was shot and killed outside his Manhattan apartment building in 1980. The tweet came on what would have been the couple's 44th wedding anniversary. The image is similar to the cover art Ono used for her first studio album "Season of Glass," which was released in 1981.
"Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980," Ono tweeted.
