Late-night Chelsea gas leak forces temporary evacuations

A natural gas leak in Chelsea forced more than 100 residents to evacuate their homes late Monday, according to broadcast reports.
WHDH-TV reported the gas leak was on Cherry Street. Residents of Broadway’s 200 block noticed the odor of gas and called Chelsea police, according to WBZ-TV.
The leak was repaired by 10 p.m., National Grid told WBZ. Residents have returned to their homes, according to WHDH.
