Hurricane Sandy has already caused untold destruction, having demolished towns and killing at least 38 people in the Caribbean. Sandy, who even has its own Twitter handle, is on a path that could see it blend with a winter storm to hit the East Coast with a super-storm next week. Needless to say it bears keeping an eye out, even if the bad weather magically misses the New England coastline.
We’ve compiled a few news reports covering Sandy’s exploits, and how people stateside are preparing for the so-called Frankenstorm.
Bahamas: These two videos show some telling scenes of storm damage on the islands.
South Florida: While Cuba got the brunt of the storm, there were some wicked waves smashing into the state's beaches.
And at this pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fla., it certainly didn't look pretty.
New York and New Jersey: Of course, they’re predicting the brunt of the storm will hit the Mid-Atlantic states, but officials in the metropolitan New York area are still getting prepared.
