A Dover, N.H., man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of a University of New Hampshire student from Massachusetts, according to media reports.
The New Hampshire attorney general's office on Saturday confirmed to several media outlets that Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott, 19, of Westborough, Mass., is dead.
According to the Portsmouth Press Herald, a press release announcing a news conference about Marriott's disappearance said "if anyone has any information pertaining to Elizabeth’s death," they should contact Dover police or the New Hampshire State Police.
CBS Boston reports that officials announced the arrest of 29-year-old Seth Mazzaglia on Saturday.
The station also reports that Marriott's remains have not been recovered. Police believe Mazzaglia may have dumped Marriott’s body in Portsmouth, N.H.
The office is holding a news conference on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dover Police Department.
Marriott was last heard from on Tuesday, when she sent a text message saying that she was driving to a friend’s house in Dover, N.H., around 9 p.m., police have said.
A search was conducted on Peirce Island in Portsmouth this morning.
