A government plane carrying first lady Michelle Obama suddenly aborted its landing yesterday when the aircraft came dangerously close to a massive cargo plane as the result of an air traffic controller's error, The Washington Post is reporting.

There were no injuries or damage, according to the story on Washingtonpost.com.

Mrs. Obama was returning from a TV appearance when her plane approached Andrews Air Force base, according to the Post story. The Boeing 737 plane was apparently too close to a C-17 cargo plane. Air traffic controllers ordered the First lady's plane to execute a series of S-Turns to put a safe distance between the two aircraft.

The FAA was scheduled to release a statement later today, the story said.
