* Despite their J.Lo connection, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs was on the same page with Ben Affleck at the Democratic National Convention. Combs told the E! cable channel on the convention floor in Boston: "No way a woman would ever come between men. I have no problem with him just because we dated the same girl. Right now we are both trying to get involved in the process and get people out to vote." Meanwhile, Combs has purchased a 21-room Bergen County, N.J., mansion for more than $10 million, a publicist for the seller told the Associated Press. Combs bought the 17,000-square-foot home from financier Mark Arzoomanian. The brick Colonial home is set on 3.5 acres with a gated, tree-lined driveway that winds to a circular courtyard. The sale was reported yesterday.

Set in Los Angeles in the early '90s, the project is described as similar to Ellroy's "LA Confidential." It is an ensemble piece about a cop who uncovers corruption. Shooting is slated for early next year.
