The first live, televised mayoral debate between City Councilor John R. Connolly and state Representative Martin J. Walsh is a little more than a week away, and we, here at that the Globe, want your input.
We want to know what questions voters have for the two mayoral candidates, who will participate in a live debate from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 15. The two will answer questions in the WBZ-TV (Channel 4) studios asked by the station’s political analyst Jon Keller and Globe reporter Akilah Johnson. (Yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person.)
Here are basic rules-of-thumb: Each question will be asked of both candidates; keep suggestions issue-oriented and appropriate for both mayoral candidates to address; we want substantive questions, not campaign rhetoric or personal attacks.
Unless otherwise requested, your name or initials will be used should your question be selected. If you want to remain anonymous, please do tell us where you live so we can at least identify the locale of the question. (Not all questions will be used. Sorry!)
With that in mind, give it some thought. Send us a question or two.
Oh, and save the date – Oct. 15. You can watch the debate as it happens live on WBZ-TV, on CBSBoston.com, boston.com, bostonglobe.com, or hear it live on WBZ-AM 1030.
