Vt. prosecutors to wrap up case against Va. pastor
BURLINGTON, Vt.—Federal prosecutors in Vermont say they expect to wrap up with their case against a Virginia pastor charged with helping a woman who felt she was going to lose custody of her daughter to her former lesbian partner.
Prosecutors in the trial of Kenneth Miller say they expect to call their final witness on Friday.
The 46-year-old Miller, of Stuarts Draft, Va., is charged with helping Lisa Miller and her daughter flee the country in September 2009 after a years-long custody dispute over Isabella with Janet Jenkins of Fair Haven.
Lisa Miller and Isabella were last known to be in Nicaragua.
Miller's attorney, Joshua Autry, is expected to begin presenting the defense case on Friday.
