BARRE, Vt.—A 31-year-old homeless woman is due in court later this week to answer charges stemming from a rash of burglaries, break-ins and home invasions in Central Vermont.

Prosecutors say Megan Duffy could ultimately be charged in as many as 50 break-ins in at least two counties over the past several weeks.

Duffy was arrested last week in Barre. She's being held for lack of $25,000 bail.

The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus says Duffy faces felony burglary charges in Washington County for an April 9 break-in at a home on East Bear Swamp Road in Middlesex, an April 15 break-in in Duxbury, and a May 2 burglary in Northfield.
