Coventry man surrenders to police in pot case
PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A Coventry man wanted in connection to a marijuana growing operation discovered by police investigating a break-in has surrendered to authorities.
Providence police Maj. Thomas Oates III said Tuesday that 47-year-old Kevin Miller turned himself in. Oates says Miller iss charged with cultivating and manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Miller is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
Officers discovered the marijuana growing operation while investigating a break-in at a garage Saturday night. Police returned to the garage on Sunday and found more than 180 marijuana plants, $4,000 in cash, numerous rounds of ammunition and lighting, ventilation and water systems used to grow marijuana.
Two people who were arrested at the scene of the break-in have been charged with breaking and entering.
