A 28-year-old man died yesterday morning after he was ejected from his car in Swansea and hit by several cars, State Police said in a statement. Timothy Carrig of Bristol, R.I., was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 eastbound on Interstate 195 in Swansea, west of Exit 3, when he left the roadway shortly before 1:30 a.m. and drove onto the grassy shoulder, State Police said. When the vehicle reentered the road, it rolled over across all three eastbound lanes and ejected him onto the roadway, where he was hit by the cars, the statement said. State Police said Carrig, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not wearing a seat belt. Police are investigating whether speed was a factor. Only one of the drivers who hit Carrig remained on scene. Anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the accident is asked to call State Police at 508-993-8373.
