PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Crowds of protesters have gathered outside the Convention Center in downtown Providence, where President Barack Obama is attending a fundraiser.

Protesters across the street from the Convention Center on Monday evening are holding signs including "End Obama's Wars" and "Trillion Dollar Wars."

Obama toured a factory in Woonsocket earlier Monday and is due to attend fundraisers in Providence for the congressional campaign of Democratic Providence Mayor David Cicilline (sis-uh-LEE'-nee) and other candidates.

Obama did not make any endorsement in the governor's race. Democratic candidate Frank Caprio said earlier in the day that Obama could "shove it" after learning that Obama would not be offering any endorsement.

Many people were lined up on the East Side of Providence eagerly awaiting another Obama appearance.
