Rescuers scrambled to the scenes of two separate crashes this morning within miles of each other on Route 3 North in Plymouth that sent multiple people to the hospital, State Police said.
Around 10:05 a.m., police received numerous phone calls for a three-car accident just south of the Exit 3 ramp as well as a rollover crash north of the Exit 3 ramp, State Police Trooper Todd Nolan said.
“There was some initial confusion because it was the same time and roughly the same area,” Nolan said. State Police arrived at the three-car accident first, and after realizing there was another incident to respond to, called Plymouth police for assistance.
“We were unable to respond as all assets were tied up with the crash and traffic issues,” Nolan said. The Plymouth Fire Department also responded to both crashes.
Some of the passengers in the three-car crash were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Nolan said. No further information was immediately available on the rollover crash.
Police do not believe the two crashes were related.
