PEMBROKE, N.H.—A New Hampshire man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his roommate.
Forty-eight-year-old Dale Collinge is accused of shooting Karen Boelzner in the head Sunday night at an apartment they shared in Pembroke.
According to court records, police seized Collinge's firearms in 2006 after his then-wife filed for an emergency protective order, saying that Collinge threatened to shoot her. The weapons were ordered returned by the court earlier this month. A judge wrote there were no outstanding protective orders or domestic violence convictions that would prohibit Collinge from possessing a firearm.
Collinge is being held without bail and is scheduled to return to court later this month.
