SALEM, N.H.—The parents of students in the Salem High School band have stepped up in a big way.
The Parents Music Club, made up of about 60 to 70 parents, donated $4,800 to buy a 48-foot- trailer to haul the band's equipment. But what good is a trailer without something to haul it? That's where the Giuffre family stepped in, donating a tractor unit worth thousands of dollars.
Band director Marty Claussen says he cannot believe the generosity of the parents and especially the Giuffre.
The band has about 130 members.
Students tell The Eagle-Tribune ( http://bit.ly/qsxut5) that the trailer can be used to haul thousands of pounds of instruments and other equipment to competitions and events throughout New England, and across the country.
