NASHUA, N.H.—The organization overseeing efforts to bring affordable broadband Internet access to under-serviced regions of New Hampshire has hired a company to begin construction of a high-speed fiber optic network.
Network New Hampshire Now has awarded the contract for the $34 million project to New Hampshire
When completed, the network will stretch from the seacoast to southwestern New Hampshire, and will run northwest to the North Country and lakes region.
Network New Hampshire Now is a public-private collaboration led by the state university system. It was awarded a federal stimulus grant last year to expand broadband in all 10 counties and create a wireless public safety network.
