DURHAM, N.H.—Waiting for the bus near the University of New Hampshire will become a high-tech experience thanks to a project recently approved by the state Department of Transportation.
The department has approved an application for UNH's Real Time Transit Information, which will provide GPS-based information to bus users via smart phones and other devices. That will allow people to see exactly where their bus is and predict arrival times at key stops.
UNH also has approval to launch year-round, weekday service to Rochester with stops in Barrington and Lee. The bulk of the money for both projects will come from the federal transportation department.
