LONDONDERRY, N.H.—Firefighters in one New Hampshire town were called out for some unusual duty -- rescuing ducks.

Using a makeshift net, firefighters in Londonderry rescued 12 ducklings from a storm drain Thursday. All were reported in good shape, though the mother wasn't in the area.

WMUR reports that the birds have been taken to Granite State Animal Hospital in Windham.
