On the banks of the Charles River, members of the National Guard's Alpha 1-101 Field Artillery unit fire 105-millimeter ceremonial shells from M101 guns. The guns date to the World War II era. The shots were fired to mark Independence Day ceremonies near the Hatch Shell in Boston.
