Author Casey Sherman chronicled his aunt Mary Sullivan's murder in his book, "A Rose for Mary: The Hunt for the Real Boston Strangler. Sherman believed DeSalvo did not kill his aunt and instead pointed to a golf instructor living in New Hampshire as the killer.
In this 2000 photo, Sherman attended a press conference at the Parker House where he called on officials to release evidence for further forensic testing in his aunt's death.
