
In less than seven years, the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge has established itself as a landmark of modern Boston, its majestic suspension cables rising from the northern edge of downtown Boston to Somerville and points north on Interstate 93. The bridge made news from its ground-breaking to the decision April 9 to shut its gleaming lights off at night forward to save money. The decision was reversed April 18.
