Artists will set up their easels around town on Saturday for “Paint Essex Day.” From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., artists will create Essex-themed works at various shops, museums, open spaces, and other locations identified with balloons. The day will end with a wet-paint auction and reception from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cox Reservation, part of Essex County Greenbelt, at 82 Eastern Ave. (Route 133), where all paintings will be for sale. The rain date is next Sunday. The registration fee for artists is $5, and preregistration is recommended, but artists can also register on the day of the event at 8 a.m. at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Main Street. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. Tickets for the reception and auction are $25 ($10 for registered painters). The event is cosponsored by the Eventide Gallery and the Essex Merchants Group as part of its ongoing effort to bring traffic back to town following the completion of the Route 133 reconstruction. For more information and or for artists’ registration, contact Teri Canelle Eramo at 978-890-7198 or Teri.eventide@gmail.com, or Kimberly Brennan at kimberlyabrennan@aol.com.
