Patricia Brown, 81; played in ‘girls’ pro baseball league

Patricia Brown grew up in Winthrop playing sandlot baseball with her older brothers and their friends. She played three sports at Winthrop High School and then pitched for three teams in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which was featured in the 1992 movie “A League of Their Own.” Ms. Brown also wrote “A League of My Own,” a 2003 memoir. “I feel like I have finally pitched my no-hit game,” Ms. Brown said of her baseball book.
